Posted April 16, 2008: There was a good turnout for the April Social held at Womer’s Draft House in Hughesville. A total of 29 people were in attendance, representing 16 businesses from Hughesville and the surrounding areas. Social interaction/networking was followed by a light dinner of pizza and wings. Amy Gardner then provided an overview of the brochure that was distributed to everyone in attendance, including the association’s goals as outlined in the Bylaws, GHBA sponsored events in 2007, and the routine meeting schedule. (Additional copies of this brochure are available to members upon request.) GBHA is always looking to increase its business membership and resultant participation by these members to attend meetings, to serve in one of the positions of the organization, to volunteer with organizing or attending GHBA sponsored events, and to provide input/assistance with the GHBA website. Amy closed the presentation by stressing the association’s success depends on participation by individuals within the community willing to give their time to the organization. The regularly scheduled monthly meeting then followed the Social.
